The PKVES PTO is working to raise money to build an outdoor classroom on our school grounds. We are quite excited about the learning possibilities that this classroom will create for our community and we hope you will support this project with enthusiasm.
The Fun Run on September 21 will kick off a season of fundraising that will run through to HarvestFest on October 26th. We will have just about ONE MONTH to raise as much money as we can for this effort, with a goal of $20,000!. We appreciate that it is an ambitious endeavor, but we believe we can do this for the benefit of the students and teachers at PKVES. The reward for achieving the goal is that the students can turn their principal, Mr K, into a human ice cream sundae at HarvestFest!
Fun Run Fundraising: this event actively engages our student body in the fundraising effort. Students can ask their loved ones to contribute a lump sum for their run, or even an amount based on the effort made by the student measured by laps. In a 20 minute period, most students are able to achieve at least 5 laps regardless of speed; we have even some highly motivated students complete upwards of 20! We are tying this years goal to the Kindergarten colors rainbow concept, with hopes that each student will strive for a minimum of 7 (just like the colors of the rainbow acronym ROYGBIV). Your student will come home wearing a jelly bracelet for every lap achieved!
Funds can be contributed prior to the event or anytime after between now and Harvestfest. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend the HarvestFest event so that you can watch first hand the laughter and joy created by these endeavors! The Sundae event itself will be from 7-7:30PM on Thursday October 26.
We are so excited to bring HarvestFest back to PKVES for the first time since pre-covid. Please be on the lookout for a post on HarvestFest details in the coming days.
Please be aware: the school office has sent out information for Reading Across America, which is another fundraising program. This fundraiser is for the school, and the individual teachers and income from this effort DOES NOT go toward the outdoor classroom. Only PTO fundraising efforts go toward the outdoor classroom. When multiple asks are being made, it can feel like a lot! As parents ourselves, we understand this and hope that each family at PKVES will feel led to bless our school by freely giving to those efforts which align most with your own values. Every gift counts, no matter where it is directed and we are grateful for your generosity.
