Introduction to the 2023-2024 School Year

On behalf of the PKVES Parent Teacher Organization, we wish you a a warm welcome to our school. As an organization, we strive to help PKVES a place where students, teachers, staff and parents feel a strong sense of community.

Whether you have been at PKVES for years or you are new this year, we hope you will consider getting involved with the PTO - for the benefit of the students! Every parent can determine their level of involvement, but we gently remind that many hands make light work. Please read on to learn how to become involved!

Our PTO is growing! When Covid impacted our schools, the PTO began operating with a small cohort of volunteers. With the limits on who was allowed in the building, it was difficult to maintain our former membership. With the pandemic limitations lifted, and under the direction of our energetic new principal Mr K - we are enjoying more parental participation. For this, we are thrilled! We hope to see as many parents as possible taking ownership of their potential place on the PTO.

We have a board of elected officers that are leading the charge this year. These members of the PTO attend monthly meetings and are responsible for detailed planning & execution of PTO activities. They are:

Current PTO Board Officers:

President: Hilary Irons

Vice President: Donielle Davies

Secretary: Nicolette Myers

Treasurer: Renee Moll

Event & Fundraising Committee Chair: Eliz Ozcan

Teacher Appreciation Committee Chair: Jen Dameron

If you would like to participate in the PTO, there are many ways to do so!

Option 1) Heavy Involvement: while our officers for this year are already in place, we do hold new officer elections at the annual spring meeting. If you are interested in finding a place on the board, the best thing to do is to get involved this year.

Option 2) Medium involvement: You could be more heavily involved by joining one of the two committees. These members will attend scheduled meetings and have a more active role than at large members.

1) Events & Fundraising Committee

Current Members: Shea Mannix, Wendy Martin, Sonia Shifflett, Adwoa Arnong-Doc, Melodie May, Sarah Brenneman, Courtney French

2) Teacher Appreciation Committee

Current Members: Mary Dean, Wendy Martin, Maria Moorman

Option 3) Light involvement: You can be more lightly involved by simply signing up to receive information (emails/texts) which will allow you to customize your involvement. It is always a blessing to have parents who support us by donating baked goods, meal items, monetary donations, etc...

Lastly, we are open to new ideas and programming! If there is something you would like to accomplish or see developed at Peak View, please let us know. We look forward to serving the PKVES community together this year.
